Overview
Kismet is a mobile astrology application prototype designed for youths interested in horoscopes, daily predictions, and compatibility insights using user-provided birth data and real-time planetary data.
Goal
Provide users with a visually-pleasing platform to easily access and browse daily personalised astrology updates, predictions and cosmic guidance.
What was done?
As the UI designer for this project, I focused on crafting a visually engaging interface while ensuring that interactions and functionality remained intuitive and easy to understand. This project provided me with an opportunity to explore how visual aesthetics, information hierarchy and interactions can be applied within a horoscope-themed mobile application to effectively capture and sustain user attention.
To set up this project, I began with a competitive research of horoscope-related applications such as The Pattern, Co–Star, and The Daily Horoscope. This research helped identify common features, content structures, and interaction models used within the applications. Based on these insights, I developed a site map to define the project application’s structure before progressing into the design and prototyping phase using Figma.

Thought Process
I adopted a minimal and concise visual approach to avoid visual clutter and cognitive overload. A black-and-white colour scheme was selected to ensure clean aesthetic while reinforcing a consistent brand identity.
Interaction and frame transitions were designed to be smooth and familiar for users, ensuring that all interaction responses remain clear and predictable. This helps users understand how the application responds to their inputs, supporting a seamless and intuitive experience.
